First of all, it seems like only yesterday that the Spring collections were showing here in NYC. At the time I was not in a Spring place, possibly because it had yet to go below 60 degrees. I was anxiously anticipating a Fall that never arrived, and instead was substituted with a crazy and temperamental winter. Second of all, can I just say how *thrilled* I am that color is back for Spring? I am so happy that I can include deep blues and bright pinks and luscious greens in with my usual blacks and greys. Third of all, can I also just say how overwhelming it is to know that Fashion Week is just around the corner for Fall? I'm just catching up to Spring!
It took a while for me to begin to consider that yes, it will be sunny and beautiful again, and I will be able to put away my down coat and take out my skirts and sandals once more.
There is none of that with Mr. Lacroix, the master of haute couture. If I had all the money in the world, after I had facilitated world peace and food for all, I would use it to fill my wardrobe with Lacroix. I don't care that it's impractical or that I'm not 6' 5" or that I can't wear haute couture to get milk from the deli. I'd look like a princess out of my own fairy tale and let me tell you, that is good enough for me. My favorites:
The fairest of them all, in my opinion:
Total red carpet material, if you go for red on red. And who wouldn't? Absolutely stunning:
Yes, these are sheer pants and I don't care! Lacroix makes it work:
Can't you just see a cigarette holder in her hand? I feel like she is something out of a 20's movie. So glam:
Second favorite. So reminiscent of My Fair Lady:
No collection is complete without a little black dress:
I love this lace coatdress. One, please!
The man himself, so dapper and unassuming, with the final piece, the wedding gown:
